Effective Measure Acts as an Agent for our Customers
Effective Measure acts as an Agent for each of its customers, in that it provides its services primarily for the benefit of the customer. Each of our customers uses Effective Measure to understand more about the visitors to its websites; in this way, our customers can provide online advertisers with third party independent statistics that help demonstrate their site audience. This information may include search engine referral, affiliate referrals, traffic driven by banner ads or other online promotions, how visitors navigate around the site, the most popular websites or sections. We also collect certain technical information, such as information relating to a browser version and operating system. We aggregate all of the usage information from our customer’s websites into a benchmarking solution that demonstrates their metrics to advertisers and other interested parties. We do, however, reserve a limited right to disclose any information we collect if required by law or valid order of a court or other governmental authority. We also reserve the right to disclose any information to third parties. However, such disclosures will take place with discretion that is commensurate to the sensitivity of that information. We generally collect anonymous usage information from websites which are registered on our system. These websites participate in Effective Measure by placing a small piece of tracking code on each of their webpages.

Alternatively, browser extensions to supresss most measurement and ad tracking will will usually opt you out of Effective Measure and this method is recommended for those who delete their cookies but wish to remain opted out from our data collection services. We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt-out as described above, we will not be able to remove your personal information from the databases of our affiliates with which we have already shared it. Collection and Use of Personal Information
Effective Measure collects anonymous, aggregate statistics. For example, we do not tie a specific visit to a specific IP address. You can browse customer web site(s) without giving us any personal information. We use our own surveys and customers to analyse traffic in order to understand our customers’ and visitors’ needs and to continually improve our site for them. In some instances we rely on our channel partners to fulfil product trials and information requests, and provide customers and prospective customers with information about Effective Measure and its solutions. For Effective Measure Customers: Any customer using Effective Measure’s services outside the Republic of South Africa must ensure they comply with the Processing Agreement concluded separately.
We may need to disclose personal information to our employees that require the personal information to do their jobs.
If we undergo a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, we may assign our rights to the personal information we process to a successor, purchaser, or separate entity. We will disclose the transfer on the website. If you are concerned about your personal information migrating to a new owner, you may request us to delete your personal information.
